Where to go and what to do

Of course first of all to the beach if it is summer outdoors! The blue flag, as the recognition of cleanness, safety and appropriate level of equipment of the European beach, flies over Jurmala in Majori and Bulduri not for the first year. Fine clean sand and coastal dunes where you can hide from the sea wind or from too hot sun – it is a shore of the Gulf of Riga.

There are a lot of prestigious beaches all over the world but most of them, unfortunately, have the same disadvantage – the nearby highway along which elegant cars, luxurious cabriolets and growling motorcycles run all the time. A highway on the beach that is what we do not have in our Jurmala! Only sea, only sun, only breeze, only dunes, only pine-trees, pussy-willows and heady fragrance of dog-roses. You enjoying this secluded or this crowded or this sporting beach – choose what you like most of all. Because there are 32 kilometers of it, and you can find anything here!

Family recreation park Dzintari (at the end of Jomas street, Dzintari)

The park is suitable for both: admirers of active and calm rest. There are children playgrounds for every possible age, road for roller skates and pedestrians, roller-skating ground, cafe, car parking and toilets in the park.

Rare and endangered plant species and rare European birds such as White-tailed eagle, eagle-owls, black storks and cranes, as well as different rare animals can be found in Kemeri National Park. Wild horses and cows can be watched in Dunduru meadows. Several eco-trails are developed in the park.

Museum is located in the territory of Ragakapa Nature Park. There are 19th century fishermen houses and subsidiary buildings from different parts of former Jurmala, as well as collections of boats and anchors exposed in the museum. It is possible to apply for group excursions with stranding ropes, tying bowlines, degustations of smoked fish, and with participation of Latvian tradition group.
